Dina Meyer was born and raised in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island in the last year of junior high school. There are two of her younger siblings and a brother who is older. From the age of nine until 16, she began being involved in the business of entertainment through modeling. The beginning of her acting career was at The Neighborhood Playhouse, New York. She was a student of Sanford Meisner's methods with Ron Stetson for three years. Sandra Bullock and Michael Douglas were among other actors to receive this kind of education. Her first role was in Beverly Hills 90210 which forced her to make the move to Los Angeles. After that, she was the role of the main character in the film Johnny Mnemonic, in which she performed the majority of her own stunts, establishing her as a sexy actress. The talent agent she worked with also represented Matt LeBlanc so, through her agent, she was able to secure a role in the show Friends.
