Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a mixed-race family from South London in England. She's English but her father was Nigerian. She went to The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. She pursued acting studies in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. She was on stage in several productions as a student including the King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had appearances in guest roles in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. In the wake of that film's success, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in six episodes of Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. In 2008, she got Bambi's part on the ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The actress was on two series, 2 and 3. Madekwe was the main character in the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her credits in the theatre are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe made her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show aired just two episodes at The CW, and was eventually ended. In February of 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe's exit from the series was announced in May 2013. After a period of two years as a main character, she made a guest performance in the opening episode of season three. From 2014 until 2016she appeared in Salem in the role of Tituba. Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actor who was raised by the large family. She was born to Roy and Patty Leggat.
